IFAKARA HEALTH INSTITUTE, Vacancy 2024

Ifakara  Health Institute (IHI) is a renowned research organization located in Tanzania, East Africa. Established in 1956, IHI has made significant contributions to the improvement of  health and well-being in Tanzania and the wider African region. With its headquarters in Ifakara, a small town in the Kilombero District, the institute has expanded its operations to other parts of the country.

IHI is committed to addressing the major  health challenges faced by communities in Tanzania through rigorous  scientific research, innovation, and capacity building. The institute focuses on a wide range of health issues, including malaria, neglected tropical diseases, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases, and health systems strengthening.

The research conducted at IHI has led to groundbreaking discoveries and interventions. For example, the institute played a pivotal role in the development and testing of insecticide-treated bed nets, which have been instrumental in reducing malaria transmission.
