Pharmacy Technician Vacancy at Saifee Hospital Zanzibar

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Zanzibar. The successful candidate will possess strong data management abilities and be comfortable working flexible shifts, including both day and night shifts. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy, maintaining accurate records, and delivering outstanding patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and dispense prescriptions accurately under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
• Manage and update patient records and prescription data with precision.
• Utilize pharmacy management software and other computer systems effectively to handle data entry and retrieval.
• Perform inventory management tasks, including ordering, stocking, and verifying medications.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries, offering medication information, and addressing concerns.
• Assist in medication counseling, providing guidance on drug interactions, side effects, and usage instructions.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support efficient operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Pharmacy Technician certification program preferred.
• Valid Pharmacy Technician license or certification.
• Strong data management skills with experience in using pharmacy software and general office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including both day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is an advantage but not mandatory.
