The Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) is a Government institution in various countries, whose main goal is to improve access to clean and safe water, as well as sanitation services in rural areas. This institution works closely with local governments and other stakeholders to ensure that rural citizens have access to quality water and sanitation services.
Among the important responsibilities of RUWASA is to manage the construction and repair of water infrastructure, to provide training to the residents of the villages on the best use of water and sanitation, and to ensure that water and sanitation services are available on time and at low cost.
RUWASA also participates in the implementation of national water and sanitation policies and is responsible for monitoring its implementation to ensure that the goals are met.
