The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) in Tanzania is a government agency responsible for overseeing the recruitment and selection process for public service positions in the country. Established with the objective of ensuring transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity, PSRS plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the public service sector in Tanzania.

PSRS is tasked with coordinating and managing the entire recruitment process. This involves advertising vacant positions, receiving applications, shortlisting candidates based on their qualifications, conducting interviews and assessments, and making recommendations for appointment to various government ministries, departments, and agencies.

The Secretariat designs and implements recruitment policies and procedures that prioritize the selection of candidates based on their skills, qualifications, and experience, without any bias or favoritism.
