Job vacancies at TAWA, December 2024
Job vacancies at TAWA. The Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) is a governmental organization responsible for overseeing the management and conservation of wildlife in Tanzania. Established in 2014, TAWA operates under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism with the goal of protecting the country’s rich biodiversity, particularly its vast and diverse wildlife resources.
It manages a range of protected areas, including wildlife management areas (WMAs), national parks, and game reserves. TAWA’s mandate includes enforcing wildlife protection laws, managing human-wildlife conflicts, conducting wildlife research, and promoting sustainable tourism practices.
One of TAWA’s key initiatives is the development of Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs), which allow local communities to actively participate in wildlife conservation while benefiting economically through tourism and sustainable land use. These community-based approaches empower local people to become stewards of their natural environment, creating a balance between conservation and economic development.
