POSITION: Operator
The key purpose of this role is to safely operate and maintain defined Technical Services Plants and related processes in order to achieve optimal effectiveness.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Operating equipment’s/ plant in Technical Services process areas according to VPO Standards
Plant and process
- Optimize Plant & Process Performance where appropriate
- Operate the Technical Services Plant and Process
- Provide Utilities to Departments as per required standards
- Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices
- Unsafe work practices must be identified and corrected
- Support the creation (drafting and documenting) of standard work procedures (including quick fix routines and problem solving)
Quality control and analysis
- Carry out the required quality +checks and analyses, and recording the results on the appropriate information system
- Where quality problems have arisen, apply the appropriate problem-solving techniques (e.g. 5 WHY, Quick fix routines)
- Escalate any identified or unresolved problems to Line Manager
- BAND: XI
POSITION: Operator DSM HQ
The key purpose of this role is the management of operator workstation of the brewing and yeast associated process areas, the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and supporting the Brewing Area Manager in carrying out production tasks.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Day Time Based Production Performance and Processes
- Manage Yeast availability according to production plan.
- Maintain high level of hygiene within the production area
- Interpret and implement production plan related to filtered beer availability and progress of the fermenting beer
- Monitor and control production processes on shift using the correct tools as per the VPO standards (OWS, Team Rooms, 5S, etc.)
- Perform quality analysis and ensure process quality and productivity is achieved on your shift
- Manage waste and byproducts on shift
- Shift Team Performance
- Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Communicate effectively in the workplace
- Use escalation procedures to ensure that time to react is reduced
- Execute on VPO implementation plans as per the VPO standards
- Ensure proper understanding of VPO standards
- Execute on goals and ensure shift goals are met
- Perform Administration
- Ensure application of administration systems and procedures
- Contribute to self and team development
- Ensure all the administration is executed on time as per the VPO standards

- Apply problem solving and decision-making techniques and
- Drive your development plan
- Ensure training bucket compliance and SKAP plan execution

Minimum requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent (Food science and technology /Laboratory technician)
- Completed Brewing traineeship
- Minimum 12 months on the job training @ SKAP process 6 months
- 5-years’ experience in a brewing environment or Previous experience in a process-controlled manufacturing environment, ideally in food FMCG products
- Understanding of the Brewing process Value Chain from Raw materials transfer to BBT, including E&F throughout to Packaging
- PC literacy (Microsoft/SAP)
