TANROADS, or the Tanzania National Roads Agency, is a government agency responsible for the management, development, and maintenance of the national road network in Tanzania. It operates under the Ministry of Works, Transport, and Communication, with the primary objective of ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods across the country. TANROADS is tasked with the planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation of roads, as well as overseeing their maintenance.
Highway Engineer (1 Post)
- Entry Qualifications:
- Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.
- At least seven (7) years of working experience with three (3) projects of a similar nature completed as a Highway Engineer.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the contractor at the site and oversee force account operations.
- Monitor laboratory activities to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Manage work plans, ensure quality control, and prepare monthly progress reports.
- Review contractors’ test results and advise on the appropriate way forward.
Material Technician (1 Post)
- Entry Qualifications:
- Must have a Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or a Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- At least three (3) years of working experience in a soil/materials laboratory.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor laboratory activities to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Test materials to verify compliance with technical specifications.
- Maintain inventory records for all material activities in the project.
Works Inspector – Road Works (1 Post)
- Entry Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with ERB as a Graduate Engineer.
- At least three (3) years of working experience in a relevant field.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect road works to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Oversee the implementation of OA/OC procedures for the project.
- Ensure compliance with site health and safety standards.
Works Inspector – Drainage/Structures (1 Post)
- Entry Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with ERB as a Graduate Engineer.
- At least three (3) years of working experience in a relevant field.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing structural drawings and reports to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Review, inspect, and approve all materials and completed works for adherence to technical specifications.
- Maintain a detailed site diary
Office Management Secretary (1 Post)
- Entry Qualifications:
- Must have a Certificate or Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- At least two (2) years of working experience in a relevant field.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain an office diary at the site.
- Prepare correspondence and reports.
- Attend to visitors and manage office phone calls.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
General Conditions
- Successful applicants must be ready to work in Kyerwa District, where the project is located.
