The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) began its HIV and AIDS initiatives in Tanzania in 2003 and established a local office in 2004. Since then, EGPAF has worked closely with the Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, and the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government to expand its efforts, supporting comprehensive, integrated services for HIV, GBV, TB, and family planning in various regions.

Recently, EGPAF Tanzania, in partnership with organizations like Amref Health Tanzania, Engender Health, D-tree International, and Matchboxology, secured the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Afya Yangu Northern project. This initiative aims to address gaps in HIV, TB, and family planning services through a client-centered approach, while also strengthening the capacity of local stakeholders for sustainable, country-led ownership.
