Made in Moshi is a dynamic social enterprise based in Moshi, Tanzania, at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our store was established with a dual purpose: to provide high-quality vitenge fabrics and custom-made clothing to the local community, while also supporting the Ushirika wa Neema Children’s Home.
position: Store Manager
In line with this mission, we are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and experienced individual to join our team as Store Manager. If you have a background in retail management, a passion for African fabrics and culture, and a desire to contribute to a meaningful cause, we invite you to apply!
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of Made in Moshi, ensuring smooth and efficient store management.
- Provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with clients.
- Manage inventory, including receiving shipments, organizing stock, and ensuring product quality.
- Collaborate with tailors, suppliers, and other team members to meet customer needs and deadlines.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase foot traffic and sales, including leveraging social media platforms.
- Monitor and track sales performance, providing regular reports to leadership.
- Ensure the shop is clean, welcoming, and visually appealing.
- Lead, train, and motivate the store team to achieve their best performance.
- Act as an ambassador for Made in Moshi’s mission, sharing its story with customers and visitors.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Tanzanian national, aged 22-40 years old.
- A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in retail management or a similar role.
- Experience working with tourists or international clients (mzungus) is a significant advantage.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups of people.
- Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
- A passion for African culture, fabrics, and community development.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Point of Sale systems, social media management).
- Experience in sales or marketing is an added advantage.
