Established in 2001, the bank has over 18 years of experience and was the first to be listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE). Originally registered as a limited company, DCB began as a regional microfinance institution in April 2002 and later received its banking license in June 2003 under the name Dar es Salaam Community Bank Limited.
