Job vacancies at DarTu, February 2025
Dar es Salaam Tumaini University (DarTU) was formed in January 2024, following the transformation of Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (TUDARCo) into a full-fledged university. TUDARCo was originally established in 2003 and was previously known as Waldorf College Tanzania, which operated from 1997. The Waldorf College Tanzania was founded by Waldorf College from Iowa Forest Hill, USA.
In 2001, the Waldorf College Council decided to cease its operations in Tanzania, and the college was transferred to the Eastern and Coastal Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ECD-ELCT). Subsequently, it became part of Tumaini University and was renamed Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (TUDARCo).
TUDARCo officially became a constituent college of Tumaini University on April 1, 2003, alongside Makumira, KCMUCo, and Iringa University College. The university’s mission is to provide competitive, demand-driven, and market-responsive education, research, public service, and outreach, guided by the word of God and focused on social innovation and entrepreneurship for sustainable national socio-economic development.
