The logistics specialist is accountable for ensuring the efficient and effective management of inbound and outbound logistics and transportation of goods and raw materials across the company and with third-party partners.
Position: Logistics Specialist – Export
Key Accountabilities
- Shipper coordination on freight and loading on Tanzania shipment Pre check of all documentation (BL packing, list, COC)
- Manage the inbound loads and coordinate with production for accurate arrival times and space availability.
- Freight negotiation and compliance with Tanzania shipping regulation
- Managing the seamless movement of the consignment to the destination and ensuring timely deliveries
- Managing inventory levels.
- Resolving delivery issues, maintaining accurate records.
- Analysing data to optimize logistics processes.
- Complying with regulations, and collaborating with suppliers and customers to maintain a smooth supply chain.
- Undertake other tasks as may be directed by Management

Qualification & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Logistics management, or a relevant discipline.
- 5 years of experience in a clearing and forwarding field and East African customs in clearing and freight forwarding practicing certificate will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholder at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent listening and negotiating abilities
- Excellent organizations skills
- Good in Microsoft Office suite, Business fluency in English.
Technical competencies:
- Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard customs terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
- In-depth experience in using Tanzania Customs Integrated Systems (TANCIS)
- Numerical Acumen; Ability to work with large data volume.
