The Fleet Costs Controller will be tasked with analyzing costs and data to enhance performance, lower expenses, and improve safety. They will have overall responsibility for managing the maintenance system, operations, and cost control for a diverse fleet of more than 100 vehicles, including trucks, cars, and operational vehicles like excavators, tractors, and graders.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Analyse fleet operational data, identify trends, optimize routes and improve overall fleet efficiency.
  • Control and optimize fleet-related costs, including fuel consumption and maintenance expenses. Develop d
  • Support Fleet and logistic Manager to Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for all vehicles
  • Oversee repair and maintenance operations, ensuring timely completion and quality work.
  • Work with the procurement department, Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies for all fleet operations.
  • Coordinate with fleet and logistic  managers as well as other operators to address vehicle issues and optimize usage.
  • Implement and maintain a fleet management system for efficient tracking and reporting
  • Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Work with Procurement and Fleet and logistic Manager to oversee and coordinate the procurement of new vehicles and disposal of old ones as needed
  • Support fleet and logistic Manager in the administration of vehicles documentation and tracking according to Tanzanian laws ie;Insurances, Road Licences etc.

Qualifications: 

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Fleet Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in costs control management with implementation of tools
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis, vehicle maintenance, repair, and fleet management best practices
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in software and data analysis
  • Experience working in Tanzania or East Africa is preferred
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Swahili is a plus
