Since 2016, Nutrition International has been operating in Tanzania, with a focus on enhancing health and nutrition, particularly for women, adolescent girls, and children. The organization is committed to eradicating vitamin and mineral deficiencies globally by collaborating with governments at all levels. In Tanzania, it has partnered closely with the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC), the Tanzania Food and Nutrition Center (TFNC).
President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG), the Prime Minister’s Office for the mainland, and the Ministry of Health Zanzibar for the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar. Together, they are working to implement the National Multi-sectoral Nutrition Action Plan (NMNAP, 2016/21) and the Multi-sectoral National Nutrition Strategic Plan (MNNSP, 2014/18).
The organization’s efforts aim to improve the health and nutrition of Tanzania’s most vulnerable populations. Nutrition International will continue supporting the Tanzanian government in executing activities across five key areas by working alongside relevant Ministries, Agencies, Departments, and partners.
