The receptionist will usually be positioned at the front desk, acting as the primary point of contact for patients upon arrival. Patients and visitors anticipate a friendly greeting and assistance from a receptionist who demonstrates genuine care and a sincere desire to help with their needs.
Position: Receptionist
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in computer usage
- At least a Form Six level of education, or a Diploma
- Knowledge of customer service
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English
- Prior experience in a hospital setting is an added advantage
Personal Attributes:
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Strong team player
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients/visitors, ensuring a positive hospital image
- Issue medical forms for cash and health insurance patients
- Receive, store, and return patients’ medical cards
- Ensure all patients are registered in the hospital management system, including emergency cases
- Provide necessary paperwork for patients or their accompanying family/friends, based on the insurance protocol
- Coordinate with OPD Nurses to assist emergency patients with urgent care and paperwork
- Direct patients to the appropriate triage clinics or cashier office
- Schedule appointments for specialists and make courtesy calls to remind patients of upcoming appointments
- Answer phone calls and assist callers with any required information
- Maintain a well-organized office to optimize patient flow and avoid long queues or overcrowding in the OPD area
- Perform any other duties as required
