Geita Gold Mine is Tanzania’s top gold producer, operating a single site located in the Geita Region. It operates as a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, a global gold mining company based in South Africa, with activities spanning over ten countries across four continents. The mine is located within the Lake Victoria Goldfields in Northwestern Tanzania, approximately 85 kilometers from Mwanza City and 20 kilometers southeast of Lake Victoria.
Its main office is in Geita, just 5 kilometers west of the rapidly developing Geita town, with an additional support office in Dar es Salaam. The mine is deeply committed to the sustainable development of the surrounding communities and has consistently collaborated with the Government to improve essential services such as education, healthcare, water supply, and infrastructure.
