MUHAS is seeking applications from qualified individuals for employment in roles related to a research project titled Strengthening Post-Crash Care in Tanzania (SPRINT Project). This initiative, funded by a World Health Organization (WHO) research grant awarded to the Department of Emergency Medicine, focuses on enhancing care and outcomes for road traffic injury (RTI) victims.
The project aims to build the capacity of both first responders and hospitals by implementing six key components from the WHO emergency care toolkit in both pre-hospital and hospital environments. These interventions will take place along the A7 highway, a major route linking northern and southern Tanzania. The goal is to reduce preventable deaths, minimize long-term disabilities, and improve overall patient recovery.
Additionally, the project supports the development of a national trauma registry through the use of standardized trauma documentation. This will aid in monitoring, quality improvement, and provide crucial data to guide policymakers and stakeholders in making informed decisions.
