The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is a midstream oil development spanning Uganda and Tanzania. It features a nearshore Marine Storage and Export Terminal (MST) and, once completed, will be managed by the EACOP Company. The project involves a 1,443 km electrically heated pipeline that will transport crude oil from Kabaale–Hoima in Uganda to the Chongoleani Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania for export to international markets.
Together with the Tilenga and Kingfisher developments, the EACOP project is expected to boost the economies of both Uganda and Tanzania. Benefits include increased tax revenues, job creation, promotion of local content, infrastructure development, improved logistics, skills and technology transfer, and enhanced trade links between the two countries.
During the construction phase, which will last approximately 2–3 years, the project will offer short-term employment opportunities for both skilled and semi-skilled workers. Additionally, casual labor will be hired locally from the districts along the pipeline route. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities and encourages all qualified individuals to apply.
