In 2025, the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) conducted a nationwide recruitment process to fill 1,596 vacancies across various departments, including domestic revenue, customs, human resources, and finance. The application period, which ran from February 6 to 19, attracted an overwhelming 135,027 applicants, averaging 85 candidates per position.
After a thorough evaluation, TRA shortlisted 112,952 candidates who met the required criteria and invited them to participate in written interviews held on March 29 and 30, 2025, at regional centres across the country. Candidates who were shortlisted were notified via email and could also verify their status by logging into the TRA recruitment portal.
The interview process was designed to be fair and transparent, with special accommodations made for candidates with specific needs. A professional consultant oversaw the recruitment process to ensure impartiality. Successful candidates from the written interviews were expected to proceed to the oral interview phase, with details communicated to them in due course.
