Job Title: IT Support Engineer
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide services aligned with the ITIL v3 (level 3) framework, collaborating with the Client to ensure these processes are effectively carried out.
- Set up and configure computer systems, software, networks, and applications.
- Monitor and maintain IT systems and network performance on an ongoing basis.
- Respond to technical issues raised by staff or clients, offering guidance and solutions.
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in deploying new software applications.
- Maintain detailed records of technical issues and solutions for future reference.
- Deliver IT support either remotely or on-site to clients.
- Troubleshoot and resolve both software and hardware-related incidents.
- Manage, configure, and support local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network infrastructure, and internal/external web systems.
- Perform desktop-level repairs and upgrades, including software installation, system configuration, and data backup setup.
- Log and document support requests and resolutions to ensure effective follow-up.
- Analyze support trends and documented solutions to help prevent recurring problems.
- Test solutions to confirm successful issue resolution.
- Conduct follow-up checks after resolving technical issues.
- Create user-friendly guides and articles for the knowledge base.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions.
- ITILv3 or ITILv4 certification is an added advantage.
- 2 years experience supporting a company multinational staff.
- Must be fluent in both oral and written English
- Ability to self-learn new technologies via web articles, forums, seminars, trainings. Analytical and problem-solving skills
