Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) serves as Tanzania’s national carrier, proudly representing the country’s heritage and symbolized by its slogan, “The Wings of Kilimanjaro.” Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, the airline operates from the state-of-the-art Julius Nyerere International Airport, utilizing Terminals II and III as its hub. ATCL is IOSA-certified and a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Since its founding in 1977, following the dissolution of East African Airways, the airline has also been part of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA).
Owned by the government, ATCL operates a fleet of 12 aircraft: one Dash 8-Q300, five Dash 8-Q400, four Airbus A220-300s, and two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. By the end of 2023, the fleet is expected to grow with the addition of one Dash 8 Q400, two Boeing 737 Max 9s, another Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, and one Boeing 767 Freighter.
Thanks to its modern fleet, Air Tanzania remains the leading airline in the country, offering comprehensive domestic and international services with over 120 flights per week to more than 15 destinations. From its Dar es Salaam base, the airline currently connects to over 10 domestic locations.
