Stipend: TZS 500,000 per month
About the Opportunity:
The Switzerland-Tanzania Chamber of Commerce (STCC) in Dar es Salaam is offering a six-month full-time internship that provides valuable exposure to the operations of a Swiss bilateral chamber of commerce. As an Academic Intern, you will work closely with and support the Executive Director in a wide range of responsibilities, including research, writing, event coordination, and maintaining external communications. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both private sector engagement and aspects of economic diplomacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and write business updates on relevant economic topics
- Manage the Chamber’s social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Assist in planning and organizing events such as conferences, networking receptions, and official visits
- Provide support with day-to-day administrative tasks
Desired Qualifications:
- A recently earned bachelor’s degree (within the past year) in a relevant field such as economics, law, international relations, or business administration
- Tanzanian citizen or holder of valid residence and work permit covering the internship period
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Proactive, goal-driven, and detail-oriented
- Keen interest in economic matters and current affairs
- Passion for communications, events, and social media
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
- Cross-cultural sensitivity
- Fluency in English and Swahili; knowledge of French or German is a plus
