Teachers Internship at TAMISEMI 2026
The Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO RALG), through the Teacher Professional Development Improvement Project (Global Partnership for Education – Teacher Support Programme, GPE-TSP), is implementing various interventions to strengthen the quality of education in the country. Among these interventions is coordinating the placement of Volunteer Teachers in Secondary Schools under Local Government Authorities.
Through this project, PMO-RALG announces 1,500 Volunteer Teaching positions for secondary schools with the greatest need, in accordance with the Secondary Teacher Allocation Protocol (S-TAP).
Scope of the Advertised Positions
These positions target qualified teachers in the following areas:
- Science and Technology (STEM)
- Vocational Subjects
- Business Studies
Qualified Tanzanians are invited to apply for these one thousand five hundred (1,500) positions as specified in this announcement.
General Duties of a Volunteer Teacher
A Volunteer Teacher will be responsible for performing the following duties in accordance with education guidelines:
Academic Preparation
Preparing work plans, lesson plans, lesson notes, and a work plan for other assigned duties.
Teaching and Learning Materials
Preparing and developing teaching and learning materials in line with the relevant curricula.
Teaching and Assessment
Teaching, conducting student assessments, and maintaining records of academic progress.
Attendance Management
Supervising and monitoring student attendance at school and in the classroom.
Student Guidance and Welfare
Overseeing students’ intellectual, physical, and spiritual development, as well as providing guidance, counseling, and mentorship.
Professional Advice
Providing professional and academic advice on the development of education at the school.
School Property Management
Managing and safeguarding school equipment and property with integrity and accountability.
Other School Duties
Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of School according to the needs and responsibilities of the school.
