Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Bandari College Dar es Salaam (BCD), a premier technical institution owned by the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), and registered with the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) under registration number REG/EOS/018 in 2003, is inviting applications from qualified candidates for part-time teaching positions in its Engineering and Transport Cargo & Marine Operations (TCMO) departments.

Located at Tandika Ward, Mahunda Street, adjacent to Mwembe Yanga playgrounds in Temeke District, Dar es Salaam, BCD continues to provide quality technical and vocational education to equip students with the necessary skills and competencies for professional success.

Part-Time Instructor – Engineering Department (2 Posts)

Reports to: Head of Engineering Department

Job Purpose:
The instructors will deliver high-quality instruction and assess students to ensure they acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies aligned with their academic development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare teaching and learning materials.
  • Teach NTA Level 4–6 students.
  • Assess and compile students’ Continuous Assessment (CA) results as per college examination regulations.
  • Set end-of-semester examinations (SE) and prepare marking guides.
  • Invigilate tests and SE exams according to schedule.
  • Mark SE exams in areas of specialization.
  • Upload CA and SE results into the Student Information Management System (SIMS).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a GPA of 3.5 or above from a recognized Higher Learning Institution.
  • Computer literacy and presentation skills are required.
  • A Master’s degree and/or relevant working experience will be an added advantage.

Remuneration: Payment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the contract letter.

Part-Time Instructor – Transport Cargo & Marine Operations (TCMO) Department (1 Post)

Reports to: Head of TCMO Department

Job Purpose:
To deliver quality instruction and ensure that students gain knowledge, skills, and competencies in Transport Cargo and Maritime Operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare teaching and learning materials.
  • Teach NTA Level 4–6 students.
  • Assess and compile students’ CA results in line with Examination Regulation requirements.
  • Set end-of-semester examinations and prepare marking guides.
  • Invigilate tests and SE exams as per schedule.
  • Mark SE exams in areas of specialization.
  • Upload CA and SE results into SIMS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
