Shushi Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency
Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam is looking for a skilled Sushi Sous Chef to support our Sushi Kitchen operations and deliver an exceptional dining experience in line with Hyatt brand standards.
The Role
- Support the Executive chef in daily kitchen operations
- Prepare sushi and other Japanese specialties
- Ensure high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation
- Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards
- Assist with team supervision, training, and shift oversight
- Support inventory control, cost management, and waste reduction
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in sushi preparation, preferably in a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and excellent knife skills
- Culinary training or certification preferred
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
