MDAs manage national policy and service delivery at the central government level, while LGAs focus on local governance, ensuring the implementation of services and programs that directly affect the day-to-day lives of citizens at the community level. Both play crucial roles in Tanzania’s governance and development.

Position: Physiotherapy Officer (6 Positions)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To perform all physiotherapy duties in the hospital related to various conditions, including those affecting children, the elderly, and all inpatients.
  • To assess the patient, plan treatment based on the patient’s condition, and monitor the patient’s progress.
  • To provide treatment advice and refer the patient to other healthcare professionals based on the patient’s condition.
  • To provide and manage physiotherapy education, rehabilitation, and treatment to improve physical health and mobility within the district, region, or their work area.
  • To provide counseling and rehabilitation advice to patients in the community (CBR).
  • To maintain physiotherapy patient records and data on people with disabilities, and utilize this information as directed in accordance with MTUHA guidelines.
  • To evaluate physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in their work area.
  • To supervise and guide the staff under their charge.
  • To prepare plans and budget estimates for physiotherapy services in their area of work.

Education and Experience

To be employed, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc. in Physiotherapy) from government-recognized universities, have completed their “Internship,” and obtained full registration from the Tanganyika Medical Council.

Salary scale: TGHS C
