Duties and Responsibilities
- To perform all medical duties in the hospital related to oral and dental diseases.
- To provide and manage oral and dental health education.
- To improve oral and dental health in their work area and community.
- To fill/repair teeth, perform surgery, fabricate dentures, and carry out orthodontics.
- To supervise the staff under their charge.
- To examine, monitor, and prevent outbreaks of diseases.
- To teach students in health colleges within their work area.
- To design and conduct research and disseminate results.
- To develop and prepare strategies to improve the quality of services in their field.
- To prepare plans and budget estimates for oral and dental health services.
- To participate, review, and improve health services (Medical audit and quality improvement).
- To provide outreach services in their district/region.
- To maintain statistics and use them as directed in accordance with MTUHA guidelines.
- To plan and evaluate oral and dental health services in their work area.
- To conduct research in various areas of oral and dental health.
- To perform other tasks as assigned by their supervisor that are related to their education, experience, and skills.
Education and Experience
Employed with a degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery from universities recognized by the government, who have completed their “internship” and are registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council.
Salary scale: TGHS E
