The Good Samaritan Foundation of Tanzania (GSF) was founded as a corporate entity and registered in Tanganyika in 1961. It was established with the goal of building the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) to serve healthcare, education, and research purposes. KCMC, one of Tanzania’s four Zonal Consultant hospitals, was officially founded in 1971 under the GSF, which is owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT).

Position: Director of Finance

MATANGAZO YA KAZI BOFYA HAPA

The Director of Finance will lead finance functions, including accounting and general ledger, financial/management/regulatory reporting, forecast and budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, annual/periodic audits facilitations, taxation, finance systems, grants/funds management, and treasury. The person will be responsible for preparing and implementing financial strategy, policies, procedures, and financial controls, ensuring the achievement of institution-wide financial objectives and stability. S/he will ensure internal controls are effectively in place and functional while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

Terms of Engagement:

  • Duration: Three Years (3), renewable
  • Salary Scale: Special/Government Salary Scale

Entry Qualifications:

  • Holder of a Master’s Degree in Accountancy/Financial Management/Business Administration/Economics or its equivalent from any recognized institution of higher learning
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA(T)) professional registered with the NBAA as an Authorized Certified Public Accountant

Working Experience:

  • Must be a Citizen of Tanzania
  • Minimum eight (8) years of working experience in a reputable organization, with at least five (5) years at the managerial level
  • Experience working with the Government and national/international development partners is essential
  • Experience with Christian religious institutions is an added advantage
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
