The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), operating under the Ministry of Works, is responsible for the maintenance and development of the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in mainland Tanzania. Resident Engineer – 1 Position
- Entry Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer, with a current practicing certificate.
- A postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in road and bridge construction design, supervision, and contract management/administration under FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
- Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or equivalent in at least three road construction projects within the last 10 years.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead site staff and oversee technical and administrative operations.
- Supervise contractor operations and force account activities.
- Manage project work plans and quality control processes.
- Oversee contract management and prepare monthly progress reports.
- Process contractor invoices and facilitate payments.
- Ensure social and environmental impact mitigation measures are implemented.
- Maintain records, including works diaries, test records, and payment documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
CAD Technician – 1 Position
Entry Qualifications:
- Tanzanian citizen with a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Must have a Certificate in CAD training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare drawings and sketches related to road or bridge design.
- Collaborate with the Highway Engineer for improvements in road/bridge design.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Tanzanian citizenship is a mandatory requirement for both positions.
- Applicants must be willing to work in the Coast Region for an extended period, as the project is based in this area.
