Kilombero Valley Teak Company (KVTC Limited), founded in 1992, is one of Africa’s most pioneering forest management initiatives, offering a variety of social, economic, and environmental advantages to a remote part of Tanzania. KVTC oversees 28,132 hectares of land across the Kilombero and Ulanga Districts in the Morogoro Region of Southern Tanzania. Central to the project is the sustainable cultivation and harvesting of plantation teak.

Alongside the conservation and management of more than 20,000 hectares of native forests and wetlands, which support diverse wildlife and plant species. KVTC has also set up an integrated processing facility to produce timber and value-added products, contributing long-term employment and social development to the area.

With major investors like the Africa Sustainable Forestry Fund and Finnish Development Funds, KVTC is focused on providing high-quality teak that is sustainably and ethically sourced from the heart of Africa.
