Organized through several divisions—such as Preventive Services, Curative Services, Human Resources Development, Health Quality Assurance, Social Welfare, and Policy & Planning—the Ministry ensures a comprehensive approach to public health.

It also manages specialized programs like immunization, maternal and child health, mental health, and disease surveillance, often in partnership with WHO and international donors . A key recent initiative includes the launch of the Tanzania Public Health Bulletin, designed to deliver timely, peer-reviewed information on outbreaks, health trends, and best practices to policymakers and practitioners alike.
