The East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) is a regional body established in 1974 to enhance collaboration aimed at improving health programs and achieving the highest health standards among its member countries. These member states include Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The organization’s policies are executed by a secretariat, based in Arusha, Tanzania, and led by a director general. The Secretariat operates through four main clusters: Family Health and Infectious Diseases; Health Systems Strengthening and Capacity Development; Knowledge Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation; and Non-Communicable Diseases, Food Security, and Nutrition.
