Role Overview

The Camp Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operation of the camp.

The role involves overseeing daily camp operations to ensure smooth service delivery, high standards of guest satisfaction, and consistent delivery of quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Camp Operations and Cost Management

The Camp Manager will oversee camp operations and manage costs by:

  • Monitoring all aspects of camp operations.
  • Managing resource allocation.
  • Controlling overhead costs.
  • Ensuring efficient service delivery.
  • Maximizing revenue from available products and services.
  • Departmental Coordination and Performance Management

The successful candidate will coordinate and evaluate departmental performance by:

  • Assessing and communicating work requirements across all camp departments.
  • Planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing departmental performance.
  • Ensuring departments align with company goals.
  • Supporting effective contribution to Mwiba Holdings Limited’s overall objectives.
  • Daily Operations Support

The Camp Manager will work closely with the Group Hospitality Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day camp operations by coordinating:

  • Logistics.
  • Staffing.
  • Operational workflows.
  • Daily camp functioning.
  • Standards and Operational Procedures

The role requires enforcing company standards and procedures by:

  • Implementing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintaining quality standards across camp operations.
  • Ensuring consistency in service delivery.
  • Aligning camp operations with the company’s mission and values.
  • Operational Systems Improvement

The Camp Manager will develop and improve operational systems by:

  • Designing and refining systems for inventory management.
  • Managing product handling, storage, and field distribution.
  • Establishing clear policies and procedures for receiving supplies.
  • Ensuring efficient utilization and distribution of equipment and supplies.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or another related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience working in tourism and hospitality at managerial level.
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially in marketing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent administrative and systems knowledge.
  • Ability to listen effectively and communicate well with guests.
  • Ability to work closely with the team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support the team whenever required.
  • Passion for providing memorable guest experiences.
