Doctors with Africa – CUAMM, is an international organization which implements health projects to support provision of quality healthcare especially to the most vulnerable communities. CUAMM focuses on designing health system strengthening projects, with particular attention to Maternal and Child Health. Through its evidence-based approach, CUAMM works to reduce barriers preventing communities from accessing health services, to improve the quality of services provision, to ensuring quality and equitable services are available to everyone.

CUAMM is currently looking for highly qualified candidates to fill the position of 

Job Title: Project Manager 
Duty Station: Doctors with Africa – CUAMM Office, Mbweni – Zanzibar.
Contract Period12 months including probation period of 3 months
Expected start date1st July 2026

Job abstract:

The project Manager is responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of project activities by ensuring effective communication, documentation, resource coordination, and timely reporting to achieve project objectives. The project manager, should ensure compliance with government regulations and donor’s requirements and to advance vision and mission of the organisation. Should be focused to achieve project expected results in efficient and effective manner with core aim of ensuring good results to final beneficiary

Responsibilities

  • Managing project activities to ensure smooth execution activities on daily basis
  • Planning and scheduling of project activities efficiently, and tracking of progress against workplan through cost and budget monitoring
  • Monitor project milestones and follow up on pending tasks to avoid delays; being focused to identify risks, escalate issues, and having skills on problem-solving to keep the project on track.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including reports as may be required to different stakeholders, HQ and donors
  • Ensure good and sound financial management of the project in terms of efficient, effective and transparent use of all resources available, as well as being in full compliance with local and international regulations as well as donors’ requirements
  • Build team work with subordinate, ensure each one adhere to policies and regulations of the organisation, and ensure smooth and constant communication/collaboration with the team, management and all project stakeholders particularly the Government official and ministry of health
  • Organise meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on action points.
  • Foster and cultivate strategic relationships with stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and partners to ensure smooth project execution 
  • Participate in regional and national coordination networks, acting as the key representative for the organization
  • Establish data collection and monitoring systems to track project performance
  • Identify new funding/project opportunities and collaborate with HQ to design future strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Health system management, or Health related profession. Master degree on above field or Masters in Project monitoring and evaluations is an added advantage
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in project management or administration on health-related projects. Having experience with international NGO as added advantage
  • Strong understanding of project management processes and excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills with fluency in English and Swahili, Knowing Italian language will be added advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and internet is compulsory
  • Must be a good motor vehicle driver (manual gear) with valid driving licence and clean record of traffic offences
  • Flexibility to adopt and work with multi-national, multi-cultural and challenging environment
