UTUMISHI—also known as the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) under the Tanzanian President’s Office—periodically announces recruitment openings for district-level council positions throughout the country. For example, in July 2025, PSRS released a notice for several Form IV and above roles at Ngara and Mtama District Councils.
Earlier in the same cycle, it also advertised multiple similar positions on behalf of Bahi and Buhigwe District Councils, aimed at qualified Tanzanians with secondary education and above. These announcements typically come with detailed notices that outline job titles, academic or professional requirements, and application deadlines.
This model of recruitment reflects UTUMISHI’s mandate to fill public service roles through transparent, merit-based selection practices governed by the Public Service Act.
Once the vacancies are published on the Ajira Portal, eligible candidates are expected to submit online applications. Those shortlisted are later notified for interviews, and successful applicants must report to designated duty stations—bringing original academic certificates and identification—as detailed in follow-up “Call for Work” notifications.
