The School of St Jude stands as a trailblazer in the field of charitable education across Africa. Each year, we provide 1,800 students with free, high-quality education, support hundreds of graduates in accessing higher education, and supply over 20,000 students in government schools with skilled teachers. Our mission is made possible thanks to the generosity of donors from around the globe, committed to empowering bright but underprivileged Tanzanian youth through education.
Who Are You?
You are a passionate and detail-oriented teacher who thrives in a student-focused environment and embraces a comprehensive approach to learning.
You can effectively plan, implement, and assess lesson plans, schemes of work, and exams.
You value the role of Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) and are enthusiastic about motivating and mentoring students to get involved.
You’re dependable, take initiative, and are eager to participate in broader school responsibilities, including assemblies, school committees, and special projects.
You are committed to fostering both academic success and strong moral values in your students.
What We’re Looking For
- A Tanzanian national with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in East Africa, demonstrating excellent academic performance.
- A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience at A-level with a proven track record from top-performing schools.
- Ability to effectively deliver the NECTA curriculum using modern, student-centered teaching methods that promote competency-based learning and assessment.
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written, as it is the language of instruction—you will be evaluated on your English proficiency.
- A mature, self-driven educator with broad educational knowledge who adheres to ethical teaching practices and brings a fresh, engaging approach to the classroom.
- An enthusiastic, committed, and inspiring personality to energize and guide students.
- Willingness to follow school policies and take on weekend duties when necessary.
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Education is a plus.
