Volunteer Opportunity: Medical Doctor at CCBRT – Dar es Salaam

Position Overview:
CCBRT is currently seeking a committed Medical Doctor to join its clinical team on a volunteer basis. This role is ideal for a doctor who is passionate about contributing to disability prevention and early detection efforts, while also gaining valuable clinical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general medical care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Conduct regular patient clinics, screenings, and admissions
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative care, including maintaining operation lists
  • Collaborate with senior doctors and specialists regarding patient discharge and treatment plans
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures and support senior surgeons during major surgeries
  • Participate in community outreach programs
  • Work on a rotating shift schedule, including night and weekend on-call duties

This position is volunteer-based and includes opportunities for professional development through hands-on learning.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum GPA of 2.7
  • Completion of a one-year internship
  • At least one year of post-internship experience in a reputable healthcare setting
  • Valid 2024 practitioner license and registration with the Tanganyika Medical Council
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Swahili
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to client-focused care and a proactive work ethic
