Role Overview
The Account Manager is responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with government partners. Their primary focus is to ensure client satisfaction, drive account growth, and deliver tailored products and services that align with client needs.

Position: Key Account Manager

This role operates under an Enterprise Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), with performance measured through monthly recurring order value and incremental revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with existing and prospective clients at the management level to understand their business strategies and core objectives. Work collaboratively to develop a strategic roadmap that supports the progression or closure of Airtel contracts, including network services (fixed and mobile), solutions, and value-added services.
  • Establish and grow relationships across multiple functions within client organizations (including Owners, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Marketing, HR, and VIP users) to identify innovative solutions that align with their unique business needs and long-term goals.
  • Gain a deep understanding of each customer’s business model and IT priorities, aligning them with broader industry trends and relevant Airtel Africa solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Regularly assess competitor activities to stay ahead of market trends and identify risks or opportunities. Proactively recommend cost-saving initiatives, technology upgrades, or strategic enhancements to improve operational efficiency and competitive positioning.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent)
  • (Preferred) Membership in relevant professional bodies
  • (Preferred) Certifications in areas aligned with the role

Experience & Skills:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in sales and relationship management with government clients
  • Strong knowledge of fixed and mobile connectivity, with the ability to understand complex solutions such as NaaS, CPaaS, IoT, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies
  • Insight into key industry sectors, including customer strategies and business challenges
  • Understanding of governance and decision-making processes within enterprise-level organizations

The Account Manager serves as the customer’s advocate within Airtel Tanzania, ensuring their needs are represented and addressed across internal teams.
