We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the Accounting, HR and Payroll departments.
BIOTAN GROUP LIMITED specializes in processing and exporting organic cashew nuts. We collaborate with smallholder farmers and cooperatives who supply cashew nuts to our processing facility. These farmers are certified organic under EU and NOP standards. Our facility is located in the Kisemvule/Mkuranga District. BIOTAN GROUP LIMITED is committed to ethical business practices and operates with a focus on sustainability, managing a transparent and fair value chain for traceable, fair-traded organic cashew nuts from Tanzania.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Assisting the Financial Accountant with basic bookkeeping tasks
- Managing supplier invoices (requesting, checking, online filing)
- Managing expense receipts (checking, allocating to chart of accounts, online filing)
- Supporting HR and Payroll department with data entry of attendance records
The position of Accounts Assistant is important to business success. Accurate accounting and payroll records are the basis for effective reporting to management, government and other third parties.
Requirements and Skills
- Willing to move to Kisemvule/Mkuranga or nearby areas
- Proven working experience as Accounts Assistant or similar position
- People-oriented and results-driven
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word
- Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software is an advantage
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Accuracy with numbers and other data
- In-depth knowledge of accounting rules and basic tax laws
- Degree in Bookkeeping/Accountancy
