Geita Gold Mine is the leading gold producer in Tanzania, operating solely in the Geita Region. It is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer based in South Africa, with operations across more than ten countries on four continents. Located in the Lake Victoria Gold Fields in Northwestern Tanzania, the mine is approximately 85 km from Mwanza City and 20 km southeast of Lake Victoria.
The company’s head office is in Geita, just 5 km west of the growing town, with an additional office in Dar es Salaam. Geita Gold Mine is dedicated to the sustainable development of local communities and has shown its commitment by partnering with the government to improve education, health services, water, roads, and other economic activities in the area.
