Precision Air, established in 1993, began as a private charter air transport company with a five-seater Piper Aztec aircraft. Initially, its services focused on providing connections for tourists to visit Tanzania’s key natural attractions, including Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Zanzibar Island, and other destinations across the country, with Arusha serving as its base.
Currently headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s commercial hub, Precision Air offers scheduled flights, chartered flights, and cargo services, all of which are expanding rapidly. In May 2009, the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) granted the airline a self-handling license, and ground handling operations commenced in November of the same year.
The airline is currently seeking a third-party ground handling license from the TCAA. As demand for air transport services grew, particularly as Tanzania embraced a free market economy, Precision Air expanded to operate scheduled flights, maintaining Arusha as its base.
