The Organization Structure is the means by which TIE discharges its mandated functions and mission. At the apex of the organization structure is the Council. The Council is accountable to the Minister responsible for education and is the overseer of the Institute’s governance.
The Director General who is accountable to the Council is the Chief Academic and Administrative officer of the Institute with executive powers to discharge these duties.
According to 2009 TIE’s Organisation structure, below the Director General are four academic departments and nine administrative units. The four academic and units are responsible for implementation of the legal mandate (core functions) of the Institute provided for in the establishing Act No. 13 of 1975.
