The Tanzania Startup Association (TSA) is a non-profit, membership-driven organization that represents over 800 startup members, mostly youth-led businesses, across Tanzania. TSA works in partnership with government bodies, educational institutions, development partners, and private-sector entities to promote innovation, create employment, and stimulate economic growth.
Tanzanian startups are harnessing emerging technologies to tackle challenges in vital sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and education, while also making significant contributions to the nation’s development. Building on the success of prior reports, TSA’s Tanzania Startup Ecosystem Study 2024/25 seeks to provide valuable insights to guide policy decisions, attract investment, and support the ecosystem’s global growth.
Our vision is for a Tanzania with a supportive legal and regulatory environment that nurtures the growth and sustainability of the startup ecosystem. We are committed to fostering policies and actions that drive tangible impacts on Tanzania’s startup landscape, leveraging innovation to create disruptive solutions and business models that benefit society. We aim to establish strong, progressive relationships that ensure sustainable growth and lasting impact for Tanzania’s startup ecosystem.
