Position: Human Resource Operations Superintendent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safe work practices by attending required safety courses/meetings, using proper PPE, reporting incidents, and adhering to all Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental, and company policies.
  • Coordinate the GM’s quarterly workforce meetings.
  • Communicate new company policies or developments to employees, including Q&A sessions.
  • Conduct HR departmental meetings and provide weekly updates on CMA and labor court matters.
  • Oversee Industrial Relations within the company.
  • Maintain and update the Expatriate Work Permit database.
  • Provide weekly recruitment updates to Heads of Departments.
  • Monitor company structure implementation, role alignment, and salary adjustments.
  • Implement Barrick succession planning tools.
  • Prepare and share weekly and monthly HR reports.
  • Conduct safety interactions, monitor hazards, and maintain records in the shared folder weekly.
  • Administer payroll processes, reduce payroll queries, and oversee overtime, advances, allowances, and banking changes.
  • Manage the implementation of the Element HR system.
  • Oversee the Training section and provide monthly reports.
  • Track employee time and attendance.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly compliance reports on non-citizen employment.
  • Coordinate contractors’ compliance on labor issues and non-citizen employment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • 10 years of experience in mining, extraction, processing, manufacturing, or construction industries.
  • 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience working with culturally diverse teams and mentoring employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English and Swahili
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and the environment
