Position Title: IT Officer – Technology (Infrastructure)

Location: Tabora (Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply)

Job Purpose:

The IT Infrastructure Officer will oversee, maintain, and enhance the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes managing network systems, servers, storage, and cloud components to ensure reliable, secure, and continuous IT operations that support the organization’s overall mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support new employees by providing necessary IT equipment and software during onboarding.
• Work with various teams (development, help desk, security) to meet infrastructure needs and offer technical assistance as required.
• Administer user accounts, access rights, and security configurations within the identity and access management system, including Mobile Device Management (MDM).
• Establish and maintain a robust patch management system to ensure all IT devices have up-to-date operating systems.
• Track and manage hardware/software inventories and make sure users are equipped with updated applications and tools.
• Guarantee strong and secure network performance and availability, implementing tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Use monitoring tools to proactively oversee infrastructure health, performance, and security; investigate system alerts and logs.
• Partner with IT colleagues to apply and uphold security policies and controls. Conduct vulnerability scans, apply patches, and ensure secure infrastructure.
• Address and resolve IT-related service issues efficiently using Jira Service Desk.
• Organize and implement infrastructure upgrades, including software updates, hardware replacements, and system configurations.
• Produce reports on infrastructure status, including performance, capacity, and security metrics.
• Ensure adherence to data protection regulations and support the rollout of IT security measures.
• Lead training sessions or workshops for staff and IT colleagues as needed.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe environment, protecting team members from harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation while promoting safeguarding awareness.
• Serve as a resource for safeguarding practices, helping to maintain a secure and respectful work environment.
• Follow and promote the safeguarding reporting process in case of incidents.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years in IT network and infrastructure roles.
• Experience managing mobile devices and applications.
• Proficiency in handling network equipment.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification is an added advantage.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of digital product trends and emerging technologies.
• Proven multitasking ability and dedication to work.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability, persistence, and the ability to handle pressure.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, both remotely and in-person.
• Proficiency in English (spoken, written, and reading).
• Experience in development sector operations is preferred.
