Position Title: Laboratory Technologists (3 Positions)
Reporting To: Laboratory Manager / Study Coordinator
Location: Dar es Salaam

To support ongoing research efforts, MUHAS invites qualified individuals to apply for three Laboratory Technologist roles based in Dar es Salaam.
Role Overview:
Laboratory Technologists will be responsible for overseeing all laboratory operations at designated study clinics, including sample collection, processing, and transportation to the MUHAS Clinical Research Laboratory (MCRL) for testing and/or storage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect participant samples following established protocols.
- Ensure proper handling and safe storage of all samples.
- Prepare reagents and materials required for routine sample analysis.
- Conduct laboratory tests according to specified guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly.
- Accurately document daily sample collection, processing, and transport activities.
- Work collaboratively with other research team members when needed.
- Perform any other study-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Health Laboratory Practitioners Council.
- At least two years of relevant professional experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in blood sample collection and processing.
- Strong organizational and data management abilities.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical and Laboratory Practices (GCLP).
- Ability to multitask effectively without compromising work quality.

Contract Duration:
Initial contract is for 12 months, with a possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.
