BRAC International invites qualified, motivated, and dynamic individuals to apply for the following role at BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania:
Position: Procurement Officer (4 Vacancies)
Locations: Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Tabora, and Iringa
Job Objective:
To provide effective support and oversight in procurement and logistics for the MasterCard-funded project, ensuring optimal resource use in line with BRAC International’s procurement policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the procurement process for acquiring goods, services, assets, and consultancies for the project.
- Ensure quality control, compliance with specifications, delivery monitoring, and timely distribution to end users.
- Promote transparent and fair bidding practices that ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate monthly activity reports, including inventory updates.
- Verify supplier invoices and related documents before submitting them to the Finance Department.
- Prepare and deliver procurement reports weekly, monthly, and quarterly to supervisors and stakeholders.
- Train project staff on procurement policies and updates as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with BRAC policies, donor requirements, and legal regulations.
- Lead supplier prequalification processes and maintain an updated supplier database.
Safeguarding Duties:
- Ensure a safe work environment and protect staff from harm, exploitation, harassment, and abuse.
- Serve as a resource on safeguarding practices and uphold safeguarding standards in all operations.
- Report and encourage reporting of any safeguarding concerns as per BRAC’s policy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of solid experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Registration with a relevant professional body such as PSPTB is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management from a recognized institution.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
- Analytical ability to solve logistical challenges quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
