Job Position: Specialist; Card Governance

This position is responsible for overseeing card program controls, preventing fraud, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, card scheme rules, internal policies, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify risks linked to card programs and implement measures to minimize them.
  • Monitor compliance with card scheme requirements and regulatory policies, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Implement and oversee fraud prevention systems and transaction monitoring to safeguard both customers and the bank.
  • Ensure secure handling of cardholder information in line with PCI-DSS standards.
  • Propose and execute process improvements to enhance card operations and efficiency.
  • Conduct audits to assess compliance and compile detailed reports.
  • Keep comprehensive and current records of policies and procedures for card issuing and acquiring.
  • Liaise with departments such as Compliance, Risk, ICT, and Legal to ensure proper governance of card operations.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions to raise awareness about card policies and compliance protocols.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of regulations governing Visa, MasterCard, UPI, and industry standards.
  • Expertise in card processing life cycles and the Four-Party Model.
  • Solid understanding of AML practices and card security.
  • Experience in fraud prevention and forensic analysis.
  • Proficient in risk management and project implementation.
  • Familiarity with compliance procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to interpret data and spot patterns.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced certifications from MasterCard, VISA, or UPI in fraud management are advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience working with payment network rules and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance and reporting for both issuing and acquiring functions.
  • Experience in card business operations, systems, or networks is essential.
  • Proven experience in risk evaluation and mitigation.
