Position: Sustainability Specialist – Ports & Terminals
Role Overview:
The role is responsible for initiating, leading, and executing DP World’s sustainability agenda, as well as proposing innovative ideas, programs, and initiatives. It involves developing strategic narratives to communicate DP World’s sustainability vision and activities. The position ensures compliance with global ESG standards, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and regulatory requirements.
Additionally, the role oversees administrative operations to ensure they are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational standards, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Sustainability & ESG Implementation
- Develop and execute sustainability initiatives in line with corporate ESG goals.
- Support environmental projects such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and biodiversity restoration (e.g., mangrove planting).
- Collaborate with operations and HSE teams to integrate sustainable practices into daily workflows.
- Lead staff and contractor awareness programs and training on sustainability.
- Monitor and analyze feedback on sustainability initiatives and recommend improvements.
Strategic Communication
- Create and implement internal and external communication strategies for port operations.
- Prepare press releases, newsletters, speeches, social media content, and marketing materials.
- Craft compelling narratives for stakeholder reports and executive communications.
- Support leadership in delivering consistent, impactful messaging across all levels.
- Ensure communication aligns with regional and global DP World standards.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Plan and manage community engagement and CSR initiatives that reflect local needs and global commitments.
- Build relationships with NGOs, educational institutions, local authorities, community leaders, and industry partners.
- Coordinate CSR activities and community outreach programs.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations and feedback for sustainability projects.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with national and international sustainability regulations and standards.
- Prepare periodic ESG and communication reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support sustainability audits and assessments.
- Report on sustainability budgets and expenditures to the Group.
Employee Engagement
- Lead employee initiatives promoting sustainability, volunteering, and positive workplace culture.
- Organize internal awareness events (e.g., Earth Day, World Oceans Day, Health & Safety Week).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Environmental Science, Public Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years in corporate communications and/or sustainability, ideally within logistics, maritime, or industrial sectors.
- Strategic thinking and project coordination.
- Stakeholder management and ESG reporting.
- Media handling and public relations skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage cross-functional projects.
- Cultural sensitivity and community engagement skills.
