DCP Tanzania is seeking a qualified individual to support the implementation of its compensation strategy and handle the administration of payroll and related statutory remittances for all employees.
This role works closely with the Senior Compensation & Benefits Officer to ensure competitive, compliant, and effective compensation practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Compensation & Benefits Officer in developing and executing competitive compensation strategies, policies, and programs.
- Support the effective rollout and administration of the company’s compensation structure.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving compensation processes and aligning them with current business realities.
- Ensure full compliance with tax laws and regulations in the administration of salaries and employee benefits.
- Maintain accuracy and data integrity in payroll records and the payroll system.
- Process salaries and benefits accurately and on time for all employees.
- Coordinate with manpower service providers to guarantee timely salary processing for contract staff.
- Prepare and ensure timely submission of statutory deductions such as PAYE, pension contributions, and other mandatory remittances.
- Review and verify payroll invoices and schedules based on monthly payroll data.
- Prepare and distribute payroll-related communications, including payslips and salary adjustment notices.
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date compensation database.
- Generate ad hoc reports on compensation, benefits, staff costs, and headcount reconciliation.
- Interpret performance appraisal scores and calculate performance-based remuneration.
- Support the implementation of performance-linked reward systems.
- Conduct internal compensation surveys and determine appropriate salary benchmarks.
- Address employee inquiries and resolve issues related to payroll and compensation.
- Maintain accurate employee compensation records.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Senior Officer or Department Head.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- A professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM) is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll and compensation administration.
Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of industry regulations, labor laws, and trends in the cement or manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of SAP systems is an advantage.
- Strong grasp of compensation strategies, tax obligations, and employee incentive schemes.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
